Google Calendar is an optional integration. If your organisation uses Google Calendar and an administrator has configured the shared calendar integration in Givver, eligible leave requests can be synced to that calendar.
📅 What you may see in Google Calendar
Depending on the integration settings, the shared calendar may include:
Eligible pending leave requests
Eligible approved leave requests
Public holidays from the configured calendar
Company-wide days off
Pending means that a request hasn't been approved yet. It may be waiting for an assigned approver, supporting documents or document validation.
Who can see these events depends on the sharing permissions for the Google calendar.
🔍 View leave details
Open the event in Google Calendar.
Review the available information, such as the employee, dates, duration and current status.
Select “Open in Givver” to review the request or take action.
The information shown can vary depending on the event and the integration settings.
✅ Take action in Givver
“Open in Givver” opens “Team Calendar” with the relevant leave request selected.
If you're an authorised approver and the request status allows it, you can select “Approve” or “Reject” in Givver. The selected leave policy and any supporting-document requirements still apply.
If you don't have the required permissions, you may be able to see the calendar event but won't be able to approve or reject the request.
Changes can't be made directly in Google Calendar. Approval, rejection, editing and deletion are completed in Givver. Rejected or deleted leave events are removed from the shared Google calendar when the integration updates them.
🧠 If your organisation doesn't use Google Calendar
You can manage leave entirely in Givver:
Open “Time” → “Approvals” → “Leave” to review the approvals queue.
Open “Time” → “Team Calendar” to view team availability and leave requests.
For full approval instructions, see Manage your team’s leave requests.
